In masked depression, the patient does not show the classical
symptoms of depression, the lack of interest and the difficulty
to experiment pleasure for things, but he has the physical symptoms,
the usual symptoms are physical pains that are often an erratic
response to analgesics.
Problems with the heart and breath systems are frequent: artery
pressure difficulties, toraxic pain or disrithmias, and stomachaches
with diarrhea.
Any of these aches lead the patient to ask for different doctors,
without finding
the cause of the problem.
It is recommended to do study the evolution of the illness once
having realized that the source of the problem was not found.
The diagnosis of depression in these cases is late, due to being
masked.
